I planted this blue spurce about 20yrs ago on the corner of my property it is starting to get a little large for the spot it's growing in.
Any way of slowing down the growth of the tree. I was thinking of taking off about a foot off the top to try to stunt it's growth Any ideas. It's a nice tree I would hate to lose it.Any ideas Here's a pic .
Than You In Advance

Spruce can be reduced effectively by cutting to lateral branches. They also withstand shearing quite well. Neither is actually kind to the tree but it is better than removal. Reduction will tend to make the tree grow thicker-more needles in reduced space.

Ya I agree with Stumper but if you got the time and and a bucket truck you could pinch the candles after they harden off but it probably is not realistic!
Just don't top it!!!!!!!!!!!
