I found this pic of saw on e-Bay and at first glance thought it was
a toy,but it's just one of the cleanest small saws I've ever seen. It's
still there at $78.00 2 days left I think, but too small for me.

Sometimes I think people are as addicted to a bargain at E-bay as much as some meladromatic drama show on TV ... bargain or not that saw doesn't belong in my kit!

I guess if I had to buy a saw for my grandmother that would be it.

Stihl's catalog describes the 009 as a "....... ..powerful homeowners saw". Now that's marketing!

Not everyone needs to be able to run a 28" bar. That saw has or at least had a place in the market. I have one and still use it from time to time. My last takedown at my house was a 4" (INCH) DBH nuisance tree, the 7900 might have been overkill.

After all this is the "Aborist Site". By description an arborist cares for trees, not one who cuts them down. The 009 is is an old saw but in its day it was a pretty darn good arborists saw. For me the worst feature was the air filter was backwards creating a messy air box clean up.
