It's not in front of the muffler, the handle label is mostly rubbed out. Any have any suggestions? I read a thread that made sense where to normally find it, but no luck so far. I guess I could do a bore and stroke measure as a last resort?
Sorry for duplicate pics

On the left side above the oil filler cap is the serial number. I can`t read it clearly because of the dirt. Post the number, maybe someone can tell you which model you have.

Wow, i wasn't looking on the plastic there, had been sprayed with flat black (here in phx you'll generally have your gas eqpt in your POSSESSION longer if you paint stihl, echo, husky, .. UGLY.. so th15637574461518660929986833500083.jpg at has it's upside! Hah) but here's the critter, cleaned up a bit. Thanks!
Your muffler is off, stick a thin wooden popsicle stick in there and see what the diameter of the bore is.

Thanks, and i did insert a depth gauge in there and come up with around 49mm, I'll have to check specs and compare it, may have to do stroke also?

Ok, narrowing it down now, it has 40mm (1.57") bore x 1.26" stroke. This is looking like the 023 " L ", by a spec chart i have, which is the 1.5hp variant, not the 2.5hp variant 023. .
Hmmm...

Is 125 psi compression a good number for this saw?
My cs5000 is 150, but they're all different. Haven't been able to find a spec on what oem (actually broken in more useful) number is for this model, anyone have an opinion?

Here is the tech bulletin on the 023L..

Show a pic of the air filter and cover.

Thanks, useful!
But mine has a butchered top cover and filter cover, they look alike, but the air cleaner and intake I'm gonna study. Not really into the "low noise" are we, hehe.. usually translates into low POWER. But it is still a snappy little critter.
