Stihl 024AV Crontrol lever mount Crack

What causes the mount to crack on these saws.
I took apart my 024AV to clean it,I left dirt in the crack so it would show better.
It's actually broken all the way thru.
The break is where the control lever mounts, on the right side top.
Is it fixable?

Melt the plastic with a hot nail {with the control lever in place}.

Do it with common sense.

Thanks, I have some junk Stihl parts made of the same plastic I can practice on.
This appears to be a super low hour saw. I'm still curious as too what would make it fail like this.

This is the saw I bought 2.5 plus years ago, and haven't used sense.

Love my 024 with ported muffler. Great trimming saw. Only issue I have is the dang piece that keeps the bar adjuster in place. Mine moves and thus loosens the chain.
