I have a Stihl 025 that is in need of some new piston rings. I have the service manual and it calls out for two different sizes of rings: 42mm x 1.2mm and 42.5mm x 1.2 mm. I know the 42.5 is for the newer saws, but I don't know enough about the saws to know if I have the newer model or an older one. It is about 10 years old, I don't have the serial number with me right now, but that is simple enough to check. What do I need to look for to tell which size do I need?
