I own a Stihl 028AV chainsaw. It runs remarkably well until I cut several logs and then looses power. I have chained the spark plug, fuel filter, cleaned the air filter & carb., chained the fuel and have adjusted the carb.

After adjusting the carb., I can get it to idle well however irrespective of how I adjust the high speed setting on the carb., it doesn't run well at high rpm's.

Should I rebuild the carburetor?

Thanks

john

I wood check the gas tank vent first off. When was the last time it had a carburetor kit? It has the possibility of a bad coil malfunction.A compression test would make me happy.Anything above 125 PSI and it should be good to run.Replace gas lines and filter? The next time this happens simply loosen then re tighten the gas cap.If runs well then this has narrowed it down, Ken
