Stihl 029 hard start question.

Please give me a little slack because I am on dail-up internet and search function is way slow and painful.

Friend of mine has a Stihl 029 with a starting problem.

Once it sits unused for about a month it refuses to start without priming it by squirting fuel into the carb with a syringe. Within a month of last usage it will start.

I have not peronally seen this saw. Any quick ideas out there?

The quickest ideas are - Fresh gas, new fuel filter AND check the fuel hose for cracks where it exits the fuel tank.

Sometimes the diaphrams in the carb have dried out & streached so they just don't work as they're supposed to & may need to be replaced.
