stihl 029 super mods

what mods should i do to my 029 super ? more power needed. could the 029 super ever be built to cut with the ms310, or even the ms390 and still stay a dependable firewood cutting saw? i am using a 18" bar. what kind of chain is to be used for maximum performance? any and all input very much needed.

Do a search on here for "026 muffler mod" and you'll find a bunch of reading. Actually, this saw has been discussed at length, due to it's popularity. It can easily be muffler modded and wake up quite well.

If it were my saw, I'd run it with an 18 or 20" bar with Stihl RS chain.
