I'm a little sketchy on how to check the intake side. I started the duration measurement right when the skirt closes off the bottom of the port. Is that correct?

If so, my numbers are:

EXH 97* ATDC and 166* Duration
XFER 120* ATDC and 120* Duration
INTAKE 75* ATDC and 110* Duration
BLOW DOWN 23*

What do you guys think?

Well after consulting BLSnelling, I raised the XFER ports to 18* (of blow down) and lowered the intake to 80* ATDC. That is a fat bottomed girl of an intake now.

Tomorrow I get the PTO side crank seal. That is the last part I need for re-assembly (after destroying the original that I had).

I think I am done grinding at:

EXH 97* ATDC and 166* Duration
XFER 115* ATDC and 130* Duration
INTAKE 75* ATDC
BLOW DOWN 18*

I just finished the reassembly but I don't have a single ounce of mixed gas.

I think that the project turned out well and I think you owe him an apology. Your comments were not nice or neccessary.

I don't think he was trying to be rude. When I started with that saw, it truly was hammered dog ****.

At any rate. I fired it up tonight and it absolutely screams. I was shocked at how fast I cut through a 20" diameter oak log with dirty bark.

Congrats from a future 044 rebuilder. I will be picking your brain during my rebuild. Should have saw within a week.
Looks great, happy for you!

In this pic it is throwing chips off of a 20" oak log about 15' up a hill.

Sweet! I'm going to link you over to my thread as someone was inquiring on the paint aspect.
Have you thought about painting the bottom handle portion. krylon maybe?

Looks great

If I had found a solution before putting it back together, I would have done it then. But, now I am using it and it is not coming back apart.

This sucker flat out screams. It is still running quite rich at 15,000 RPM.
