I've got a low time 051AV with normal paint wear that starts easy and runs great with gobs of power. The piston and cylinder look fine. It's more than I need in a saw. I figure it might be worth about 275. Is that about right? Thanks in advance.

Depends on your version of 'mint' and what someone is willing to pay for it. That one TM posted with the eBay link...nice saw. I am gonna guess the final price of $215.

Back in the late '60s/early '70s, the 051 AV was truly the cat's ass! It was the cutting edge of chain saw technology in the Northwest. But I must concur with others here. I would take a good modern-day 066 hands down.

The 89cc 051 is probably still in production, as it is offered as a current model in South America (with chain brake). :dizzy:

It is far from the oldest Stihl model offered there. though.........
