Juiced Saws #GetJuiced
READ FIRST: Lets keep this thread respectful, civilized, and attempt to stay on track. We all like chainsaws here!!
I finally took some time to build myself a saw instead of for someone else. Picked this Magnum up locally over a year ago. It was a running cutting saw, just real ugly. I had plans right away to put some new parts on her and tore it down. Sadly that's as far as I got and into a box she went. Before I even bought the magnum I had been collecting NOS parts off ebay for sometime but once I got the magnum I decided to build it instead of the super I had.
Couple shots of when I brought the ol girl home
I started with checking port timing and here's what I got.
(This is without the base gasket)
EX: 102
TR: 120.5
IN: 73
BD: 18.5
Pretty good numbers I think.
Next I moved on to the machine work.
Here's my Logan lathe model 210 10x24. The fine members here on AS helped me pick out this lathe.
I took .050" off the squish band and set the squish to "020
Piston is nice and clean.
