The "auxiliary" oiler you're referring to is nothing more than a manual override. Pushing the button does nothing more than set the auto oiler to max.
Brad I think the "auxiliary" oiler he means is the can hanging on the mill frame by the tip of the bar. With a spigot or regulator of some sort it sends oil down the tube to the "come back" side of the bar to oil b&c in the typical millers cut.

The manual says hitting the boost button increases flow to 1.7 fl.oz/min where the max output setting only does 1.0. I was talking that setup with the extra tank but it got me thinking.

i read somewhere in a post before someone said the oiler button will boost 1.5 times the output regardless the where the adjuster screw is set
