View attachment 617174 It's been a few years since I posted here. Thanks for letting me back in. Here's a little of what I've been up to.
It's worth the wait for one that's all original and minty. Thanks everyone. Glad I'm back. That's not an ebay saw. Bought through connections here. All OEM, something I waited a long time for.
Well these guys are turning it up without molesting. Head is in KY now. Yes I have both a 660, 066, and 880. The 66s cut fast, 46s Modded in same wood even better. But big big stuff 88s, 90s my goodnessWe had a 1985 090AV at the state highway dept I worked at. It had a 59” bar with 1/2” pitch chain. We used it on a big wind storm cleanup then I got a new 42” bar in .404 pitch to make it a more usable saw. I kept all the stuff to change it back if we needed the 2 man 59” bar. I used it a little to say I did but I think it only turned 7500 RPM, our 660s with 36” bars turning 13500 cut much faster and easier on my back

Yup. All you need to do is move the Governor to tightest setting, some need to disable by going once around the pole.I had an old Stihl dealer tell me it was easy to make the 090s turn faster and cut better

And tune accordingly but shouldn't have to. Saw is made for load. Might need to richen if small bar and cookiesThat’s what he told me.
