Stihl 291 no start

Well hello, first post, what should the compression be on a stihl ms 291?
With 15 pulls wot I can get it ip to 100 psi.
The saw coughed once but won’t fire up, is the compression to low?

That's pretty low, I would definitely pull the muffler and check for scoring.

Yes, thats low compression, tho if your using an auto gauge with long hose to the gauge, and it dosent have a schrader valve in the end of the hose where it screws into the head/ spark plug hole, you may be getting inaccurate low readings.
but yes, pull muffler check for scoring and go from there.

When was it last serviced ? ie fuel filter replaced, fuel and impulse hoses inspected, carb cleaned, air filter kept clean etc etc.

OK I don't believe in compression gauges on a saw but that is sounding low. Muffler removal is next step. Lines should go around piston, not up and down.
