As a rule yes. Stihl is notorious for case halves from different saws not matching well. It can be done. Might need to take to a machinist to get the cylinder to match the case correctly. Hope this helps
stihl sells crankcase halves for most of modern saws Including ms441
never had an issue when doing that. Done it a few times on ts800 with no issues.
just buy gasket set also-don’t reuse
Most Stihl chainsaw crankcase halves are designed to be a matched pair. They're specifically manufactured to fit together as a set. The MS441 is no different.
