Stihl MS261 cutting out when chain break engaged

I've had 3 MS261's and never come across the issue, I've replaced drums from wear but always ran rim setups. I think you can get Oregon drums and AM instead of OEM but I've found them as good as any drums I've had. I wanted to try a Oregon ms260 drum to see if it would fit so to no longer have to source 'micro spline' sprockets and be as to use regular small spline rims.

Apparently the drum that comes on them goes oval , here in the UK the dealers tell you to switch to a spur and that's supposed to be the end of your problems.
I did this after changing 4 bearings , then sold the saw and bought a Husky 560xp , that was the best cure I found for the 261 .

No , sorry I don't . A friend of mine had the same problem as me , by the time he got his saw looked at it needed a crankshaft . I googled it here and there are loads of people who have had the same problem.

Dealers here were saying a spur type drum was the cure , I can only assume due to the volume of failures there must have been some kind of defect with the originals . As far as I know newer 261's are fine , mine was a 2012 model

So it would be the newer "sprockets" then?
Just curious, just like to have some "pics" to back up these new issues.
