Stihl MS261 cutting out when chain break engaged

I've had 3 MS261's and never come across the issue, I've replaced drums from wear but always ran rim setups. I think you can get Oregon drums and AM instead of OEM but I've found them as good as any drums I've had. I wanted to try a Oregon ms260 drum to see if it would fit so to no longer have to source 'micro spline' sprockets and be as to use regular small spline rims.

No , sorry I don't . A friend of mine had the same problem as me , by the time he got his saw looked at it needed a crankshaft . I googled it here and there are loads of people who have had the same problem.

Dealers here were saying a spur type drum was the cure , I can only assume due to the volume of failures there must have been some kind of defect with the originals . As far as I know newer 261's are fine , mine was a 2012 model
