Stihl MS290 Hard Starting...

A Stihl MS290 is on my bench for a complaint of hard starting. Removed the starter housing, air cleaner cover, carb, etc. New fuel filter, cleaned vent and vent line, new plug, new air filter, thoroughly cleaned everything to ensure proper air flow. Put it all back together yesterday and fired up. Ran good. Went to start this morning and the thing will not start. Fuel line does not appear to have a any cracks, etc. Fuel tank full of fresh mix.

First, take off the muffler and look at the piston.

Next, take off the air filter and work the throttle control, and make sure that the choke is closing fully.

Well, piston roached. It's well over 10 yrs old so I guess he's buying a new saw. Can't blame him!!! Thanks for the replies. At least I can use the parts on another saw I have coming in!!!
