IMG_0462.JPG So I'm picking up a mint condition ms361. I'm looking for the 3/4 wrap handle kit for it. Can't seem to find any. Does any one know where I can purchase one online? What do you guys think of the kit? I got one already for my other 361 I bought a few years ago.

Not sure if they're available or not from the dealer. A member mentioned in another post recently that he can get them. Been mulling over the idea myself.

Is there any problem, tightening the left bar nut? Looks like a typical T-scrench will hit the wrap handle. I doubt that the top of the T could be longer than 2-1/2". I've run into this with other wrap handles.
My last wrap handle kit came with the smaller scrench that fits under the wrAp handle.

Wrap handles are very strong and that has been one of the criticisms of the typical MS 660 handle that has only four bolts holding it to the case. Even the 361 has three on the right side and two underneath. The new 661 has a similar handle design as the 361, which is 8 years older. I guess Stihl woke up on that one.

Only complaint I have heard on the full wrap handles is that it becomes a little tough to trim off stubs and beaver tails from big logs to clean them up. I've recommended to sawyers that they keep a dedicated saw handy for that, but they don't listen to me very much. They want to use the same big saw for all their cutting.

Man, that looks slick! I would love one for mine, but I can't justify the price for what I do with it. Has anyone found any aftermarket kits, or at least the handle itself?

I have a critique of the wrap handlebar on the 361. I bought my kit on the bay for 150. It came with the clutch cover, handlebar, short scrench, and the other tidbits new in Stihl packaging. My own opinion is that the full wrap kit turns a handy 60cc ground saw into a somewhat unwieldy and cumbersome one. Unless you are felling trees with it, which I am not, I really don't see the need and I see it as more of a hindrance than a help.

As was mentioned earlier, it can get in the way while limbing and my experience has shown me that it nearly always gets in the way while limbing. I used my 361 with a 20" bar. I played around with a 25" but found that to also make the saw unbalanced and cumbersome. Any saw with a wrap probably needs a bar longer than 20" anyway. Around here 20" is the bare minimum for light felling work but nearly all use a 70cc class saw with a 24/25". Professional loggers that is. The harvester will take care of most of them though.

I am a fan of the west coast clutch cover on saws though. I wish they all came that way. Of course, that cover works well with a wrap handlebar since you would be eating even more saw chips if you did not have it and were using the saw inverted to utilize the wrap portion of the handlebar. I like the way the cover puts the chips more or less straight down into a smaller pile rather than spewing them all over the place like the standard ones.

I priced out the bigger side cover from Stihl and it was $70. Wow. Also found out that it's magnesium not plastic.
