Hello,

might be a stupid question. Here in Holland we dont have the Magnum models. Can anybody explain what it means.

Asked around here, even the dealer and guys who work with chainsaws for 25years dont know what is means.

Thanx

On older models it also meant a larger bore and more displacement. Some models like the 056 went standard - super - magnum in that fashion.

Then it was as said above (066 is a good exemple).

By now it just means that it is one of the larger models (over 70 cc), I believe.

It's pushed onto bigger models by the Stihl marketing dept. from time to time... Doesn't mean much at all. They even put "Magnum" on the BR420 blower a couple of years back, but nothing changed except the sticker.

Same with "Farm boss" and "Pro", although "Pro" did at one point mean extra features.

OK thank you all for the explanation. Got to get used to some technical english words but that wont be a problem on the long run.
Wood Boss, another marketing thing from Stihl?
