Any opinions on this maul?

The head looks very similar to the splitting maul from Iltis Ox

Are they worth the money over a $25 hardware store maul?

This one???

At $75.00 I'd shop around a bit before jumping on that deal. But I do like hickory handles.

they are made by Iltis Ox actually

the difference is the price and the Iltis has a metal sleave around the handle below the head.i love my Stihl maul.bought it just before the price increase.i'd still buy one though.i just can't handle a fibeglass handle.nothing feels like good ol american hickory.same with gun stocks.i hate synthetic,i know it works good but just doesn't feel or look right.

I had many cheap farm supply axes but the day a Fiskars/Stihl axe found my hands was a day to remember.
I will assume there will be a warranty unlike cheap axes and i will also say that a good axe will stay sharp and will be coated with somthing slippery .
for $75 who cares its not like its a $800 saw .
Buy it you will like it.
