threw the Oregon 16" bar that was on the Homelite 150 onto my Rancher 55. Tried the existing chain that came with the saw and it was dull, stretched out and rounded off. uggh

had Camino Power Tool make me some 59 link Oregon 72LG loops up.

Went out and did a tank of gas. Wow, quite a bit of difference to the old style 72 semi chisel chain with 20" bar.

Part of it is the shorter length of chain as acceleration to speed was faster - mass-
Part of it seem to be the style of the chain also. It really slides on the bar with less energy than my 20" bar. We will have to see what it is like after 10 cord or more for a true comparison.
I also noticed that gas consumption was better. My thought was because it slides on the bar with less energy plus different shape of the chisel

Now I just need to port my Rancher to really have fun:greenchainsaw:
