out that way, yeah, mostly mesquite... and dead flat ground, too - the ones to climb are extremely few and far in between

but you can drive 80mph (legally) on the I 10 and I 20 (most of the far west parts)

keep going further west and stop at pine springs - guadalupe mtns.

or head south to ft. stockton and alpine and dive on down to big bend

I know someone there worth visiting. a rather beautiful woman.
And its time to do some electrical work, even out the books. I have a master electricians license in my pocket, and union cards. good to fall back on while tree work slows down.

the wind farms look like a good job for awhile. 350' windmills at 1.5 megawatts each, all over. lot of work down there supposedly. anybody see a big site, please let me know.
