Btw, the 070s are made in Germany, not in Brazil.

A few years ago there was an advantage in buying a Stihl saw from a Canadian dealer. I bought my 066 that way and saved about $250 over local prices for thw same machine. Is there any advantage in buying from Mexico these days? I am not familiar with exchange rates and Mexican prices for saws. Any of you guys near the border that know?

The 380 actually looks suspiciously like a 038. 038 is my all time favorite saw. Love that thing! Powerful, has a great feel, and extremely durable.

I believe the MS380 is pretty identical to the 038 mag II, but the power rating is slightly higher - at least on the Mexican site.......
