Went out yesterday to cut up the snag I finally got down. Against my better judgement, I examined the stump. Ouch. A beaver on his worst day wouldn't have made a mess like that. So it was a big stem and small saw - no excuse. I had cuts running at up/down angles on both sides, back cut met the undercut across 1/2 of tree in a straight line, other half was angled so it left an about 8" of uncut wood near the middle. No wonder it wouldn't fall.

Also had another problem with the 041. Cutting along just fine when I saw the airfilter cover waving around. Shut down, checked it and found the entire carb seemed to be attached somewhere loosely down in the inards. No tools to go below the filter so shut down and back to shop. Screw missing in bracket behind the carb. He was digging deeper under the carb plate when I left.
