New to wood burning for heat and have a Regency insert. From what I've gathered its a good idea to get a thermometer for many reasons like making sure you're burning the fire hot enough.

I was informed the magnetic thermometers attach to the stove pipe. Being that I have an insert, my pipe is hidden. I've tried searching on the topic and can't seem to find anything.

I've found some info on thermometers for the room temp., but not a stove thermometer for an insert.

Can anyone shed some light on this?
