Colleagues in Fire,
I currently have a 6" SS flex liner that meets a T at the bottom of our basement masonry flue. The T is inside the flue and the T connects to double-walled SS pipe into the basement area and then down to our wood stove.
The thimble in the masonry is formerly for an oil/coal fired furnace (long gone) with 8" exhaust. So I've got ~ 1" around the T-connected pipe. The escutcheon on the Double wall doesn't seal well against the brick chimney and there is a pretty good draft coming through somewhere.
I have some ideas how to make up that 1" difference but I am interested to hear what you all have to say.
Thanks for any advice!
