I've got an older gentleman who wants to sell me his Titan Sportsman and an old Lancaster. Pics would help, but my flip-phone is no good for that.

1) The Titan is complete, dirty, and the metal cable recoil does not rewind correctly. Engine turns freely. Can't remember how long the bar is...its a fairly good sizer. Has that ribbed top cover, so I'm almost certain its a Sportsman.
2) The Lancaster is a dark bronze color and much bigger than most of the Lancaster's I've seen. Don't know the model number. It's complete, but I don't know if it turns freely or not. Looked like a 20" bar.

Is there much interest in these saws?
Does anyone here collect Titan's and Lancaster's?
Was hoping to get some realistic feedback from members.

Okay, I'll try to get with him on pics of both saws. I have a Sony Handycam I can take pics with. I didn't have it with me the last time I was out at his place.

How about the Titan Sportsman? Does anyone here on A.S. focus exclusively on these?

The Titan is huge and interesting looking...kind of reminds me of the Mall 2MG I had.
There seem to be two schools of thought on these Titans. Some folks refer to them as "goofy old saws" that nobody would ever cut wood with. Others think of them as "historical machines used in logging" and view them as interesting items to own. Your thoughts on the true significance of the Titans? Are the Titans so obscure that nobody really cares for them?

If that Titan was a two cylinder, it would likely be long gone quickly, the smaller single saws are much harder to sell. If it has a long bar and really cool chain, that would certainly interest some collectors

I'm almost certain the Titan is a model "Sportsman".
The Lancaster is bigger than any Lancaster I've ever seen...bronze color if I remember correctly.
Still was hoping to hear from other Titan and Lancaster enthusiasts.
Mike Acres site has some really nice photo's.
