something else to think about what if the locust dies[ ie lighting strike or something else we cannot predict ] then you have no trees if you cut down the spruce . id prune the locust lightly but leave the spruce just in case ... it seems like it happens all the time.... my customers cut down that pescky hickory that alwasy drop s nuts everywhere then a storm comes and knocks down the only remaining nice oak in their yard ..they alwasy say geese i kinda wish i would have left the hickory now ... unfortunatly ,,many times i have to refrain from saying "i told you not to completly remove it " in your situation though the spruce is in a terrible spot underneath the locust ... hmmmmm?/? something else to think about ?
