I was told it was a 244XP, oiler not working. Hmmm well there is no Husqvarna 244XP. But for $35 it was worth the trip. I figured he got the number wrong, but XP is either there or its not. I got there and found this. A nice, low hour 262xp! I don't hear much about these saws here, but it started on second pull and sure sounds strong.
I also got the 225R brush cutter for another $30. Runs good as well.
So Ill be pulling that pump off, Im thinking maybe a broken pickup tube. Its a gear driven pump. I just cant imagine it broke?:msp_rolleyes:

It will be the plastic gear stripped,no biggie. At one time you could get a brass replacement for them,262 were notorious for stripping that little cog.

Actually Joe, I read quite a bit here about the 262XP. Its labeled a proven winner and at $35 you should be on an offender list somewhere!! LOL!!

I double up...no...quadruble...the "bad ju-ju" that you deserve!!!!!
and the bike-handle brushcutter..TOO!!!...oh why not me???:cry::cry:
I've got the "Joe doll" out and inserting darning needles...ya feelin' the pain yet???

You never cease to amaze me on the "steal deals" you find....!!!!
Karma is gonna be hell when it catches up on ya!!!...:msp_scared::msp_scared::msp_scared:

Congrats!
Ya Dawg !!!!......(Southern congratulatory expression)

You did it again. Nice score.

Do you happen to know the specs on the brush cutter?
It...WAS...(1997-2002)...a commercial brush cutter with 25.4 cc motor...
Weight was about 13 lbs. and some models could use a metal blade.
Actually any could use a metal blade...and one was a round chain file sharped one
(What I meant was...factory wants a metal guard...same as today)
Brush cutter looked bigger than it really was...(25.4 cc)
Max RPM...not to be exceeded...14,000

Hope this helps...

Good info to know! I do landscaping on the side, 5 properties and odd jobs come up a lot. I had a husky brush cutter before, but it got stolen:censored:. Right now it has the trimmer head, but I believe I sill have the cutter head off my old one somewhere...

My original thought was to fix and flip the saw, but Ive since re-considered. Ill clean them both up and fix the oiler on the 262. then run them both.

Joe, you wont flip the 262XP. You don't know it yet but its one of your favorites now.
