For those who build or have had builders mod your saws:

Is it advisable to send a new oem P&C to a builder for their standard performance mods and assemble and tune yourself? Is it wiser to send them the whole saw?

Any or all of the 3 in my sig line. I have a new oem 390xp top end and a new oem 346xp ne top end sitting in my inventory for the next step. All my saws run great and don't need reworked, I am just OCD.

I suppose it depends on the type of mod being done. If nothing else needs modded to match the p/c work then it's just plug and play like any other stock kit you buy online it from a local dealer. Your only obstacle would be tuning the carb.
As Brad mentioned above...anything beyond just port work and you're gonna need the case for clearance measurements. Every cylinder is a little different from casting imperfections and multiple molds. The biggest differences seem to be the squish band.
