I have a few trees on my farm that I hop you can help me identify, pictures below.
Thanks!
Thanks!
Check out the app “PictureThis.” Seems pretty good at identifying plants, trees, etc. snap a picture and it estimates a result. It’s free for a period of time, then they try to get you to upgrade for a fee, but you can keep using it for free if you press “cancel” at the top. Thanks!! I think what you are calling Laurel Oak is what we call Water Oak, (we have LOTS of them too) thought the last one was Hickory but didn’t know which one.
So the first one is Black Gum. Some of the leaves are really nice red color but the tree is under cover of a type of Red Oak.
Appreciate your response !
I've also had good results with the app Seek by I-NaturalistCheck out the app “PictureThis.” Seems pretty good at identifying plants, trees, etc. snap a picture and it estimates a result. I thought it looks a little "off" for red maple....but assuming the next picture is the bark of the same tree, I like it for Red maple.#3 - may be striped maple?
Red maple leaves are more square, and more toothy around the edges. Striped maple leaves (or maybe mountain maple) have a more rounded appearance like those in the picture.I thought it looks a little "off" for red maple....but assuming the next picture is the bark of the same tree, I like it for Red maple.
I was going to call that pick viburnum based on the leaf dead center in the pic. But, again, the bark. I can see Red maple in those, but agree they are not textbook.Red maple leaves are more square, and more toothy around the edges.
