Get a piece and crack it open, if it is Mulberry it will be yellow grain inside. It turns reddish brown as it dries.

Yes, but so does osage orange, aka hedge aka bois de arc etc. Mulberry, hedge, and Siberian elm are all very good possibilities but more and better pics needed to be definitive. Leaves would be a huge plus
