I’m struggling to ID this wood. I collected it from a neighbor who had it dropped. It was dead for quite some time. There isn’t much bark and there were no leaves. All the branches were bare. I’m in Western PA.

Thanks everyone. I only collected it for the fire pit so it will be good enough (free). Just really bothered me not knowing what it was. It seems likely that it’s hemlock once I did some research based on the suggestion. Thanks again.
