Black locust maybe. How long has it been down for? From the pictures it looks like a black locust that’s been laying for a while. I could be off on that but the bark really looks like locust to me.

Yes, that looks right, Darn it- I just took down a black locust a couple months ago. I should have recognized it.

I was going to say Ash. Seems like the grain in photo#1 is too prevalent for Bk. Locust. Is it real heavy?
