trees write off on insurance

this could be a quick thread, but a client asked me if she could write off tree work on her taxes. maybe it varies state to state , but i though it could not be written off. im in va.
 
if the location is a place of business it could be part of the maintenance.
 
Oh be careful, there's a few variations of tax law and I wouldn't play accountant ... I'd suggest she rings one.

I have heard that TD's can be treated different to prunes as they can be considered a capital improvement etc not maintenance, and storm removal different and so on .... I keep out of that stuff now and just price and suggest they ask their tax agent.
