The International Society of Arboriculture (ISA), Urban Tree Growth & Longevity Working Group and The Morton Arboretum are convening a two-day conference on the health and care of urban trees on the beautiful grounds of The Morton Arboretum, a 1700 acre outdoor museum of trees located just outside of Chicago in Illinois.

1. Descriptive studies of tree growth, longevity and mortality

3. Roles of site design and tree selection on tree growth and longevity
Susan Day (Virginia Tech), Tom Smiley (Bartlett Tree Experts), Alan Siewart (Ohio DNR), and Jason Grabosky (Rutgers U.)

4. Roles of tree and site management on tree growth and longevity
James Clark (HortScience), Alessandro Pestalozza (Monza Dendrotec), Alessio Fini (U. Florence), Gary Watson (Morton Arboretum), and Nina Bassuk (Cornell U.).

On day two, participants also have the opportunity to participate in a roundtable discussion with the objective of fostering interaction and building a research agenda and action plan for the ISA UTG&L Working Group.

Hotel Information

The conference hotel is the Hilton Lisle/Naperville, located at 3003 Corporate West Drive, Lisle, IL 60532.

Click here to make reservations online, or call 630-245-7629. When making reservations, please use the group code “CMAR” to request a room in the conference block. The conference room rate is $89/night, and rooms can be reserved at the conference rate until Aug 20, 2011.

To get from The Morton Arboretum to the Hilton, take Route 53 south to Warrenville Road and turn right. Go 1.5 miles west. The hotel is on the left. Shuttles will pick up conference attendees and return them to the hotel at the beginning and end of each day.
 
The Morton is a great facility. I went to LBG III the roots conference a couple years ago and it was very well organized.

re the program, the blurb reads "researchers and practitioners" on the program, but all i see are researchers...will knights from the field sit at that round table, or just dukes and earls? they should have a chair your size, jps.

i can't go; working in australia still. no worries, mate!
