Ill start off by saying I wasnt gonna buy any more saws this year, after the last 5. So much for that. What we have her today: Homelite XL12, mini mac, poulan 3400, solo ,craftsman 3.7.
The bad news, well not really bad for that price but, the 3400, has been ravaged, the jug has no bolts, and somone robbed the rings, and the crank bearings are shot, but its got alot of good parts left. The solo, has little compression. If anyone wants it PM me, The 3.7 may be a runner, not sure. the real heart breaker is the XL12. Its the nicest one ive ever seen, I havent even cleaned it in the pics! I got it home and pulled the cord. Didnt budge. pulled the muffler...UGLY, looks like someone dumped salt water in the jug, totally corroded, and caked up solid, its not carbon tho, its weird. Almost looked on purpose. But this will NOT be a parts saw, this one is getting a P&C.

i just remembered i have a xl 12 chasis in my van that i used the throttle body for it on a repair saw i did for a customer that one may need just a ring for it
that customer has a xl 12 with a red body and a blue throttle housing

i will decide what they are worth for you and let you know

i need to double check and make sure everything is ok condition before i sale it

thats just the kind of person i am even with used stuff i make sure it is in fair condition

I might have the parts you need for that 647, Let me know what you need and I'll look in the morning.

That 647 might be a parts saw for your 647! I not sure but, just by turning the flywheel, comp felt low. I'll put the drill on it to check the comp for sure. Maybe ill be surprised. thank you for the offer. Hopefully its salvagable.

Your Homelite looks like it was cleaned up with a pressure washer.Pretty much a death sentence for the insides, you might want to consult Modified Mark when he comes off the "Disabled List".He revived a Dayton he received that had been "cleaned",but it was a major project.

I was kidding about the birds. I picked up a pile of Macs out of the trash on garbage day in similar condition and parts are readily available for them. It took me 2 days to get the mice out of my car.

Hey I've got an old Homelite xl 12 just like that. It fires right up if your interested. It could probably use some new fuel lines but it's in pretty good shape. Here's some pics:

I believe it. These were outside under a tarp so they could have been an animals home. As far as the XL12 goes, its strange. the saw is clean inside and out. The carb area is spotless. The engine dmage does seem water related. Hopefully the crank is good.
