Never milled, but I thought I might try to slab out a 30' by 6" table top from this 50" white oak. I don't know if it is wind twisted or has just a vine scar. Anyway, I would like learned opinions on whether or not this is this worth a shot, or I am just going to be doing a lot of work for a poor result?

Thanks, Ron

Awesome project. Sorry, can't help you with your question. What are you milling with?

It looks twisted to me.
Dimension lumber from it could be problematic but you can still cut and use slabs from it. If you want a fine finish on the surface it will be more work than usual.

I think it is twisted too. But didn't know if a 6" slab would be thick enough to maintain a top flat enough for a long cool rustic table for an outdoor pavilion.

PS to Marshy: McCulloch SP125C.
