What is happening to my trees?

We live in Middle Tennessee on a 5 acre wooded lot. As of late I have noticed a number of trees dying. Upon closer examination to some I noticed what looked to be a bug problem. Can you folks take a look at the attached pictures and let me know what I have going on? Happy to take more pictures if it helps.

Know what kind of tree they are?
Post a leaf pic and a pic of the entire tree if you’re unsure.
 
The decline in your cherry trees is due to root zone and stump damage. Most likely from land clearing equipment, soil compaction is also a factor. When a buttress roots are damaged decay will show up in the lower trunk over many years later. We can't ID EAB unless we can confirm we actually have ash trees.
Many flat head borers will feed on inner bark in live and dead logs.
