What is wrong with my pine tree

I have a pine tree that has about six different spots on it. The spots/damage (2-3" diameter) looks like and injury with sap as the scab? What could this be? I have pictures but I don't know how to upload them here. If you are an arborist and know about pine trees, please reply with your email address and I will email these pictures to you.
