i keep thinking sell the 044 and ms440 and get a brand new 460 just for newness and reliability seems like no matter how much i rebuild the old saw its still an old saw

My choice of a go to saw depends where I'm going. Headed out to remove a small blown over tree I'll take the 346xp. For larger stuff the 372xpw.

The 372XP or the Makita 6401, whichever has fuel and bar oil in it !:msp_tongue:. I don't have a smaller saw yet, still looking in the 40cc or so range, narrowed down to the Echo CS400 and the Dolmar PS 420.

My Stilhl 038 supers do the trick every time. You guys really like your 044s though, now you got me wondering what I'm missing.

Right now, the Pro Mac 850. When I finish it, I suspect the 790...

Only if I can get a .404 set up though... 9/16" chain is impossible (or really :censored: expensive) to find and not a smart size for cutting firewood, as you'd go through one or two in a couple of seasons of firewood duty.
