I was at the dealer today to pick up a carb kit, and we were talking about McCulloch chainsaws. he said they were made by MTD now, but I thought Jenn Feng in Taiwan owned them. so what I'm asking is WHO the heck owns them now?

Here's a <a "http://international.mcculloch.se/"> link for you if you live in Europe (http://international.mcculloch.se/ ). Others will also find it interesting who owns the McC name there!

Here's the Jeng Feng page (http://www.mccullochpower.com/ebpage.asp?page=history) They mention having purchased a motor factory so that they would be able to produce the gas-powered products for the N. Am market; I have also heard that the MTD brand trimmers, and some other small 2-strokes are made in the same place.

I hope someone learned how to make them. They were pieces of junk 15 years ago. Classic for falling apart.

If it is not German or oriental, it is all owned by E-lux, with very few exeptions.

I have made many posts stating this and no one belived me then.
Well, exept eyolf......

Elux makes the Mac plastics, Poulans and Partners in their factories, mostly in Italy and the poulan factory on your side of the pond, I think. There is only two brands from E-lux making pro saws, Jonsered and HVA end of story!

I will see if I can find the page where E-lux has their company brands listed....

I could have swprn Jenn Feng had Mac in their list of companies, but then again, Elux owns the European Mac label.

Interesting, Thanks Mange. as always, you bring an interesting light of reason into a subject.
