Wood ID help

Hi does anyone know what kind of wood this is? any help would be great.

It seems to be lighter than maple but harder to split.

yes I got it from the yard at a local tree service here in Windsor. I was hoping it was something else, should be good for campfires or shoulder season, thanks for the help.
