Would you re-use this piston?

Jim what about the other side of the piston? The side you showed looks decent, but the other side looks much smoother.

There was a little more wear on the bottom of the intake skirt, but barely. The bottoms of the skirt measured within .004 of each other side to side.

I guess it really comes down to whats happening with the saw.

yup, nothing wrong with the piston except the deep scratches at the leading edge of the crown and some ringland damage.

The crank bearings let loose. And around the same time something fell on it, bending the wrap enough to pull the upper rear AV rubber out. That's the condition I got it in. It sat like that a looooong time.

The bearings aren't as bad as I've seen, but the carb screws were backed way out so it was getting air there or elsewhere. Not enough to melt the piston though.

But not in one I would sell.
