Guys,
I'm leaning towards Hedge with this one but it was a very straight and well branched "tree" as opposed to the "wirey" osage I see mostly around here. Very dark wood although the picture is misleading. Brilliant orange green shavings, no dicernable smell but a really sticky white milky sap comes out from just under the bark. Heavy as well. felt like a density close to maple/oak ...

yeh I know the chain was getting dull for this cut but I think I finally figured out how to hand file....but thats for another thread.

+1 for mulberry. Unless you saw thorns on the twigs, then I'd say hedge (Osage orange). Mulberry & hedge are related.
