what engine is that?

Id like to run a Yamaha KT-100 engine on a saw, just once...full pipe, unrestricted intake, etc..

10K rpm stall on the clutch....woof

I think this fellow has alot to learn here

WTF...I cant believe you just posted that dude....no wonder I often feel the need to ride on other's backs on here w/ some members when I have ??? d:deadhorse:

If we knew it all-we wouldnt be here- right you need a spanking

YZ250, I have built other bikes but the YZ's are my fav. I have a couple of more YZ250 motors waiting in line for the next builds. I like Kawi's too. I don't think brand makes much difference, but I found some designs that worked for me and stuck to them.

Easier Starting. More user friendly.

Dont worry...a 4 disk clutch is what Id be using. No slip there, trust me.

I wouldn't bother with a 100cc cart motor, I know of a few of them and their day is gone. To small to run with the bikes and too big to run with the 3120's.

Hey Bullshop, if you want to have some fun with that 2100 find a tuned exhaust pipe for it. I'm sure someone on here has an old one for sale cheap. You put that pipe on your saw and you'll be in another world!! That sweet sound coming out of that stinger will get your blood pumping. Having said that now you can work on the ports, bigger carb, etc but forget about the 14 T sprocket. If you run you chains depth gauges at 10-15 thousands then 10Tooth max after you can get all the power out of that 2100 and if you stay in small softwood logs under 16" in a competition.:)

Jr, another idea... those 2100s are getting hard to find and parts can command a decent price. You might sell it and put that money towards getting some aggressive porting done on one of those 394s.

Romeo - may be a silly Q but are there any small, 100cc-250cc twin cylinder engines suitable for a saw? I was thinking of slightly easier starting and a lovely exhaust note. I daresay there are practical considerations to be managed, but it seems like a nice idea.

is anyone actually working with a bikesaw or are they strictly competition creatures?

Thats a tough one. Many of the bike saw rules state: single cylinder/ pull start. It wouldn't hang with the unlimited class saws like the Predator. I can maybe think of a few shows where you could get by with one. I have thought about building a Yamaha Banshee 350 twin for sh!ts and grins.

Now you're talking! I ran a Duncan Racing National Midrange Banshee in the dunes at Silver Lake Michigan for several years. It pretty much took an alky quad to beat it. Loads of fun. It was the most fun flying through the air over a razor back though!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I had the "street" version of one of those. RZ350. Had a friend of mine going to school for engineering and he couldn't understand why I was buying a bike that was "only" a 350. He, and his 500 Honda 4 stroke found out quickly!

I know a guy with a late 80's banshee, you wouldn't know it though since he keeps it looking like it came from the factory yesterday. I watched him kick the :censored: out of predators, outlaws, new banshees, and anything else with it. That thing looks down right scary running across the desert, they are probably the fastest quad to ever come out of the front door of a bike shop.

When I was in Germany, I had a 250cc 2-stoke motorcycle of some kind. I forget the model, but it wasn't a crotch rocket, more of a standard like the old Honda CBs were. It never did run right and I traded it for a rack of beer.
