+1 for that clean hinge, I know there rare. I find my best work is usually done up the tree. When it comes to felling the pole well it just becomes guess work sometimes. must be a climbers thing.

Nice job though. Love the quick in and out job I know when I do work for my parents they are the jobs that go the smoothest and quickest, you get to the bottom and wish it was a paying clients instead.

Great pic! Thanks for the compliments! Call me crazy but I like it up there, and I love it when the top comes off and pushes the stub back and the tree sways back and fourth, kinda fun actually.

On the way home, I looked at another job I got to do for a guy I know, couple of Doug Firs, 24" DIA, maybe 80' high? Looks like I'll have to go pretty much to the top to, they been topped before. Hopefully get some good pics of that job too!

Nice work Will,,,, Not criticizing,,, If you will open your face cut notch to a bit more than 90° when flying the tops it will kick back much less and be much safer for you,,, Just friendly advice,,, Good advice also from others on the safety line and cleaning up the corners of the hinge,,, especially so on the upcoming 80'ers,,,, have had a little bit of bark in a corner with an ill planned trigger nearly put one much bigger than that one in my lap,,,,,,

Have fun and be careful  :givebeer:

I saw those guys those trees must be pretty strong for dead trees cause they seem to be about two hundred foot up!

You tree guys should be danged good deer hunters too. You should be able to go right up a tree with a climber deer stand and not even get sweaty doing what you do for a living.

Thanks! Ya, there were 2 trees that size one had 2 stems, didn't take any pics of the first one. Was a easy job. Fun too.

Thanks for the tips. Yes I've heard that, but with this little top it wasn't much of a big deal. The guy I know that does this all the time takes another cut out of the face I think on bigger trees after the face is done, that way the but of the top slides off the stub better and not pushing away so much. Great tips, I'll keep listening and learning.

Nice work parris!!!!
And thanks for the pics!
I would hate to top a tree that diameter! I usually like a bit more gerth, guess thats why I have a chest that is similar to a kick boxers shin! LOL!!
I don't care what any one says, limbing go up is EASY!
But when you get to the topping, well BRASS NU#$ ARE NEEDED!
CUT AND RIDE!!!!
I still have a bruise from the first top I took out! LOL!!!

And we can all appreciate a good ground man!!!!

I love the easy jobs, but gotta watch em cause they will jump out and ruin yer day. I got two about like that tomorrow except there is azaillia bushes all underneath going to speed line most of the limbs and then work wood with bucket, may get some photos!
