I spend hours on you tube watching felling videos and I have an idea I'm not the only one. Did a search and didn't find much. So post em if ya got em. Videos, stumps, hinges, techniques, what ever you have. O ya and the saws that did the cutting.

First tree of the year. Had this one cabled due to adjacent houses. Did a half hinge to see if I could get it to kick out a bit. It worked but not going to make common practice of it.

NICE VIDS!!! I think your tractor could have just pulled the first one over on it's own lol;) Probly would have found that the roots were around a gas or water line though..

Tree with the most rot I have fell to date.

Oh boy, that rotten one was a shovel tree.

One thing I would share with you, 1st post, second pic, if you put a snipe in the bottom cut, the butt will gently slide off, with a bit of a push to make sure the trunk is all the way off the stump, sometimes big crowned trees won't do that. The snipe will eliminate any funny business with round edge hitting a flat surface..

Ya that rotten one was pretty bad. If it would have been near the house, we would have pulled it down with the excavator. In this case, we cabled it and made sure my escape was clear. It went without event.

I see what you are saying in the second pic. Great advice. Will practice that.

Burvol's got a 95 page falling thread going on in the logging/forestry forum.

Real fallers, real trees, real woods conditions.

Great! I will check that out. The search function on this site can pickup and miss random threads.

I wish I was "real" LOL
