:hmm3grin2orange::hmm3grin2orange: got you to look... Anyway, i went cutting today since it was 60 degrees and sunny. i ended up cutting 4 ricks of wood. the very first log was an 18" oak so i got the 361 out to give it a run.. really the first time since i got it. It was running a tad rich. made several cuts and leaned it back about 1/8th turn and now it would 4 stroke out of the cut and lean out good in the cut. this 361 just flat out went through the oak. there was no bogging it down. since i have it tweeked in the wood now i would have to say it would smoke the 600p i had. i am very impresed with this saw. very fast cutting, lighter wieght, and very good anti vibe. starts right up with 1 pull and just flat out runs good. been running echos so long that i have to really get used to the way this things runs. at wot in the cut it sounds like it is screaming. guess becasue the echos i have owned where so slow cutting.
this pic is the log after i got it cut. the echo is my 370. now that is a good limbing saw. going to cut another load tomorrow and will vid the 361 in a log since my wife will be helping me
i just have 1 comment about the saw. i don't care for the amount of oiling.. it uses exactly 1/2 tank oil for 1 tank of mix at max setting. i perfer 1 tank oil per 1 tank fuel. i know that might be wasting bar oil but i know that it has plenty. There was no issues with the bar and chain so i know it was getting jsut enough bar oil
i have to say this is 1 freaking sweet saw

I'm jealous man! I'm actually debating between a used 362 and a new 372 (old edition) currently to replace my 039 as my main bucking saw. Both have their merits and drawbacks, but both are extraordinarily competent firewood saws! Nice score!

Looks good. I think you can adjust the oiler, but I might be wrong.

it is adjustable and it is turned all the way up. if i remember right someone had said that this is the way it is setup to use 1/2 tank oil to 1 tank fuel

Scott, my best friend doesn't have CAD so he only owns one saw. Can you guess what saw that might be?? Yep a MS361 and his is stock and he absolutely loves it. Well its not stock, I talked him into putting a chiesel chain on it.

cs600 will run with a 361 all day long, stock saws that is. check the rpm's under a load,in most cases the echo will pull a few more in the cut.

i just sold a 600p,, so i know how they match up
ok,looking at your saws and your comparison there bud,i'd say you haven't run any of them enough to be able to tell anything. they were both brand new for cripes sake. i've been running 2-600's for a year and a half now,i'm not saying it will smoke a 361,but it will hang right there with it no problem.

i know it will run with the 361 because i run them side by side,,i have the vid to prove it,,and here it is

thats funny,in your original post you said the "361 will flat smoke the 600",so which is it??????????

It was close but the 361 seemed to cut it in 11 seconds while the the echo did 13 seconds. Either way they both make great fire wood saws. Maybe the lighter weight of the stihl allowed him to work faster and that is how the stihl is superior?

you need to read it again,,i didn't say that it would FLAT OUT SMOKE THE 600p,,i said that i would have to say it would,,in other words i am concluding in MY OPINION that it would,,put your glasses on

You said it would smoke the 600p, if you want to call 1 second one way or another smoke go ahead and the second can just be the difference in the operator, I'd say you wanted the Stihl to come out on top so it did by a hair, you could have leaned on the Echo more and it would have cut faster. You wieghed those saws with your right hand not a good scale which will tell the truth, I'm not saying the Echo doesn't wiegh more but a scale is the only way to tell. I use a good balance scale and find quite a bit of difference between published numbers and the thruth sometimes. Steve

Use a lighter weight bar lube .

i bought some master mechainc bar oil a few weeks ago. it is thinner then the stihl and echo oil. it sseems to be a lot tackier then the others plus it doesnt pour like molasses when it is real cold. i will know today when i fill it back up cutting since i didn't check it yesterday when i got done
