Yeah,

Being the smartazz that I am, I had to drop in and shake the tree a little!

How stupid can a guy be?
"I've never used or even seen one but it is just junk like everything else they make!"
Gimme a break!:dizzy:

Mike

I was just looking again, and the new 2050 is still not on the PP website. WTF..I mean it ain't rocket surgery to actually have your products on your site.

Looking forward to one of you guys getting one. Tax time! My spare tax loot is going to get my slugged up jug assembly for my echo, a year now I've been staring at that thing all took apart. This time guaranteed extree rich on ye H screw!

But I tell ya whut, trashing that echo turned me onto old poulans from necessity, a GREAT silver lining!

Poulan lime green paint

Any matching paint out there? Seems like I saw a thread but can't really find the info. Just picked up another 3400 that could use a little as well as a trigger lock if any body has that laying around.

1970 Plymouth SUBLIME.........I think the paint code is J-5 but don't hold me to that!
ANY decent parts house or paint supply house can set you up.

Well then I'm screwed. I've not learned to mix and use a sprayer. Maybe I'm not to old to learn. I ask my self now. Like learning to weld.

If you don't want to go to the hassle of mixing paint I found some paint at Rural King that was a pretty good match. It's called Key Lime.

I didn't do the photography well, it looks yellow in the pic because of the light but looks like Poulan Lime Green in person.

Thanks for the replies on my carb question guys! I'll try that swapping out a known good carb idea (was contemplating that anyway, def have strong good spark), but that will still leave me one good carb shy. Really, this one is corroded, I don't think it is worth trying to repair, seeing as how I have cheap access to a box 0 carbs in town at the dealers. Don't even think it would be worth trying in an ultrasonic. Dirt you can clean, corrosion is lost material, meaning it will never be tight, etc,. I might have to scrounge a d176 bar, too, the last one I have is worse than that carb, just a hunk of rust, but we'll see. I might soak it in diesel or something for a week, see what happens. Most likely I can get one of those cheap too, same dealer junk pile. What he *doesn't* have is a d176 in anything decent size, like a 24" or larger.

As soon as that third 3400 is done (and having done two little macs this week, one runs, one runs like new I guess) I can start on a craftsman top handle I just got. That should be a nice change of pace.

You planning on running a 24" on a 3400? Or, are you just wanting a 24" bar? Seems a little big for a 56cc saw.

That's the one. Wish it came in a rattle can for touchup jobs. With paint and hardner you're looking at around $80 or so.
HOORAH. MADE 3000 POSTS!

Thanks, I'll try to find this.

It's Rustoleum so shouldn't be too hard to find. I found this can at Rural King. It's fast dry enamel I think. I used it on clutch cover of a 3500 Poulan and it matched the other green on the saw just fine. I don't know how well it holds up under use because I haven't used the saw yet but I imagine it would be similar to other paints. If you want to make it fuel proof you can spray over it with something like PPG Quick Clear, but then again it's a hardened clearcoat that needs to be sprayed with a gun.

Curious as to how it holds up.

It depends on how you define "holds up". No paint will hold up on a chainsaw for very long without showing scratches, scuffs and bare spots from use. The best you can do is baked enamel or powder coating and it doesn't hold up forever. I imagine this enamel will stay on as well as most sprayed on enamels.

Bar mount spacers

What do you guys use for bar mount spacers when going from a Poulan d176 mount to a large Husky mount.

Thanks Scott

I don't remember where he got them, but several years ago ModifiedMark gave me some small coiled wire type spacers that slip over the bar studs. Kind of a replacement for the now hard to find S-clip spacers. They work well. Thats what I have used. Might have to file the bar slot slightly. One thing about using Husky style bars on a Poulan, the drive link count might be off slightly, and will need a different chain. Usually need 1 or 2 drive links less than what the Husky bar would normally use.

I think it has to do to the bar studs being closer to the crank shaft on the Poulan, compared to the Husky.

Gregg,

Gregg,

Thanks Gregg,

I didn't think about the drive links being less
